International Women's

Group

This wonderful group was set up when we recognised that a number of our service users were struggling with accessing services and feeling isolated. 

The group consists of women from several countries including Afghanistan, Turkey, Poland, Ukraine and African countries. It is run by volunteers, with weekly meetings (term time only). The group runs autonomously, with the members of the group shaping the sessions by discussing what activities would support them. This could be advice on job applications, help with CV writing, accessing services locally or just a cup of tea and a chat with a friendly network of like-minded individuals. 

The group has been running for several months now and has grown very quickly, showing there is a need for this kind of social group. The ages of the ladies range from 17 up to 80 years of age.
