What We Offer:
- Diverse Activities & Classes: From mother and baby groups, soft play, and arts & crafts, to coffee mornings, sports clubs, and low-cost community fun days — our event spaces host a variety of private and community-run sessions catering to all interests and ages.
- Venue Hire: Our spacious sports hall, family room, and other versatile facilities are available for hire — perfect for parties, training sessions, meetings, or sports clubs. A licensed bar can be arranged on request.
- Community Support: More than just a venue, we’re a caring space where people can access information, advice, and assistance within a supportive community environment.
- Community Café: Open daily from 9am to 5pm, serving a delicious selection of hot and cold food and drinks. Click here for the menu.

About us
What we do
The team at the Old Boat strives to provide much needed space and services to support the local and wider community. It is run by a group of Trustees, Volunteers and staff who’s aim is to make the users of the building feel happy, supported and their needs met. Whether that be a good cup of coffee, food from the pantry or a new outfit from Boatopia. The team are here to show you what we provide and also listen to what suggestion you may have.

A selection of soft play, arts, crafts and small world toys to entertain the smaller induviduals hosted by our very own Gill. Relax and enjoy a cup of coffee whilst playing with your little ones in a fun and safe enviroment. Open 9am to 12pm. Cash or Card accepted, no booking requirement.
An amazing space that knits the whole community together with lovely events; great food and drinks; brilliant, friendly staff; and a welcoming, lively atmossphere. Love it!

Such a fantastic place to visit with super friendly staff and volunteers. So many varied activities taking place through the week. A well stocked library section, lovely affordable snacks and refreshment. I especially love the cloth swap service where you can take unwanted clothes and swap them for something new. Well worth a visit if you are in the local area.
