Become a Trustee

Trustees have overall legal responsibility to make decisions about how the charity is run. We set the vision and strategy, decide how money should be spent and make sure we have the resources and processes to ensure things run smoothly. 

As well as fulfilling the duties of a trustee, the treasurer maintains an overview of the Old Boat’s financial affairs. They ensure that effective and appropriate financial measures, controls and procedures are put in place and report to the Board at regular intervals about the health of the organisation.

Meetings happen every two weeks in the evening with induction, support, training and expenses provided.

What we are looking for!

A finance professional with a knowledge of charity finance being an advantage.

An enthusiasm to learn, drawing from sound commercial experience.

A strategic thinker with an ability to balance risk and opportunity.

Clear communicator with the ability to bring the financial infomation alive to non financial sprecialists.

Willing to play an active role in areas such as foiorcasting, setting budgets and liasing with auditors.

You do not have to live locally but you must be passionate about the community
