Summer Fayre is a complete success raising over £1200

Connecting with our community

On the 12th September 2021 we celebrated in the sun with lots of activities for everyone while enjoying the delicious food and drink served by Zelal and her team. There was 2 shows by the magician David Croucher and even Elsa made an appearance to sing some favourites! Affordable books for sale as well as the amazing Kerry from Reds Remarkable Facepainting. The day was about coming together and having some low cost/free fun.

Although fun, these days are important...

We have over the previous years added important services to centre that we are able to showcase and share with people on our fun days. Our charity shop Boatopia, or the community pantry are available every day 9am to 5pm for anyone on a pay as you feel/can basis and days like today helps us spread the news.

Thanks to those who make this day possible!

Daniel from Brighton Bouncy Castles is continually supporting us with his generosity. Marie from Popolo Ceramico was providing some fun pottery painting. Messy Church and the Brighton and Hove Library service were there with Arts and Crafts. Our local PCSO’s were there showing how to fingerprint and sharing safety tips. The Trust for Developing Communties were as always there supporting us in our need to find out what the community want from us by filing out surveys and Brighton and Hove Albionwere giving out free sun cream to prevent skin cancer. The most fun part was definately throwing a wet sponge at our local councillor! None of this could ever be possible without the Old Boat Team made up or hard working staff, volunteers and trustees. A BIG thank you to you all and all of you that came down and supported us on the day.

If you enjoyed the summer fun day please leave us a comment in the box below. Thanks x

This place says the perfect example of how communities should be for a better world
